Agreements
Ever
since its inception in 1928, Academia Sinica, the
most preeminent academic institution in Taiwan, has
signed various academic agreements with its partners
at home and abroad.
The aim of international scientific and scholarly
collaboration and exchange is to promote mutual understanding
and friendly cooperation. Academia Sinica and its
partners sign reciprocal agreements according to this
philosophy. The areas of cooperation shall include
programs and activities that are deemed desirable
and feasible for the development and enhancement of
the mutual relationship between the two institutions.
Collaborative
activities and projects such as scholar exchanges,
joint projects, joint workshops/seminars, and publications
are implemented through the signing of scholarly agreements.
These agreements consist of the Consent Agreement
with the University of Hawaii, Smithsonian Institutions
and Academia Sinica, under which the projects of SMA
(Sub-Millimeter Array) and TAOS (The Taiwan-America
Occultation Survey) have been successfully fulfilled.
For the reference of the users, we have compiled the
agreements signed in the past ten years, and divided
them into four parts as follows:
